Hey Chas,

I finished 40th.

I felt great on the first two laps. But then the ground continued to soften and all the false flats just turned in to really long power sapping stretches of misery. Part of riding conditions like that is technique but after a while it just becomes about absolute power which is not my strong suit. So laps three and four i began to bog down. Perhaps I just went too hard on the first two laps. Anyway… I’m happy with my ride but admittedly I wanted to finish on the lead lap. I feel like if the course conditions were just a little firmer it would have been do able but oh well… I finished in the mix with guys I have been racing all season and the rate at which they we’re pulling people was pretty nuts.

I’m happy and disappointed at the same time. But that’s normal as I am hard on my self. It’s hard going to a race like this with a month of no racing. Race rhythm is hard to come by and next year I will plan on going to Chicago the week before. I feel like that would have really helped. But keeping it in perspective the last guy on the lead lap was a regular top ten finisher at USGP races… So I cant feel that bad.
